Helping churches cope with crisis
This workshop discusses how to
respond to tragedy with faith and courage. The goal is to help families talk about a critical event, cope with strong emotions, re-establish equilibrium, and restore
a sense of safety. Children will respond differently than adults, and helpers will learn how to work with various age groups without retraumatizing the victims. In an atmosphere of kindness and trust,
church members and families can talk about the truth of their experience and begin to adjust to their changed world.A team of crisis counselors is available to provide crisis intervention for
your congregation in the event of a tragedy that impacts a group of church members. For direct communication in a crisis, contact Joyce Pelletier at 207-797-5911 . |
